What’s ahead
The first half of 2026 laid foundations in strategy, in partnerships, in how we measure and deliver impact, and in how we organise our resources. The second half will be about building on those foundations: moving from planning to delivery, from framing problems to proposing solutions, and from celebrating milestones to engaging diverse audiences to be part of our chapter’s next 20 years.
Organisationally, the strategy development process will continue with the support of external experts. We are now working with them to make our organisation more flexible and agile, reflecting the strategy within our organisational structure.
Jubilee events will continue through the rest of the year, with the awareness campaign shifting from information to motivation, from “here’s what Wikimedia CH does” to “here’s how you can be part of it.” A Wikipedia Bus initiative in Zürich and St. Gallen and a contribution to the femalITy conference will bring the campaign into physical spaces.
Team members will help organise and attend key international events including Wikimania in Paris and the Italian-speaking itWikiCon. Meanwhile, the Education Programme will launch new Open Education Resources with the support of partners.
The AI and knowledge infrastructure agenda will advance through the “Road to Geneva” initiative, building a coalition within the Wikimedia movement ahead of the Geneva AI Summit 2027. The white paper’s release marks the transition from framing the problem to proposing collective action.
